Our system provides an integrated approach by contributing to compliance and safety from two complimentary perspectives.
Once again our system provides an integrated approach by contributing to compliance and safety from two complimentary perspectives.
Safety and compliance requirements are defined within the system and the resulting plan ensures that these are all accounted for in the resulting schedule. The in-field device receives the compliant schedule and has an expectation of what should take place in the field to remain compliant.
Our system is also pro-active insofar as it is able to notify the field worker and/or office staff if a safety or non-compliance incident is imminent so that action can be taken in time to remedy the situation.
An example of this is the scenario where a compliant shift is planned for a worker. Upon commencement of the shift the worker begins to accidentally load some extra equipment onto the vehicle. The device (using a scanner/RFID/NFC to check equipment in or out) warns the worker that this equipment should not be loaded onto the vehicle – saving the vehicle from being over its legal capacity. Later in the shift the device sounds an alarm to warn the field worker that they only have 15 min remaining before they must take a break for fatigue management. Five minutes later an alert is sent to the organisations safety officer to alert them that a worker is within 10 minutes of breaching a safety compliance requirement.
The system initially helped us with strategic planning for the future. Post implementation, the system also ensured that the strategic business targets and customer service levels were achieved and sustained in the field.
We were also pleased that we were able to realise the promised cost savings.
